Privacy Policy

Last updated: 11 June 2026

This policy covers rfguru.app — the RF.Guru app hub — and the free macOS companions PTT and QRZ that you can download from it. Each of the larger apps (SVXConnect, HotSpot) has its own privacy policy on its own site.

Who we are

The developer is RF.Guru (rf.guru). RF.Guru™ is a registered trademark of Dielectricum. You can reach us at info@rf.guru.

The website

This site is a static landing page. We do not use cookies, analytics SDKs, advertising trackers or fingerprinting. We do not ask for or store any personal information through the site.

Like any website, our hosting provider (Google Cloud Run) processes standard request logs — including your IP address and user-agent — for the limited purpose of serving pages, security and abuse prevention. These logs are short-lived and are not used to build a profile of you.

Downloads & update checks

The companion apps are downloaded as ordinary .dmg files. To let you know when a newer version is available, the apps periodically fetch a small public file from this site (/version.json) and compare it to the version you have installed.

That request contains no personal data — only what any HTTP request includes (your IP address and user-agent, processed as request logs as described above). We do not assign you an identifier and do not track which version you run.

PTT (macOS)

PTT provides a system-wide push-to-talk hotkey. Its settings (the chosen key combo and options) are stored locally on your Mac. For hold-to-talk it uses macOS Accessibility to observe only your chosen key. PTT does not send any of this to RF.Guru or any third party.

QRZ (macOS)

QRZ looks up callsign information from QRZ.com using credentials you provide. Your QRZ.com username and password and any QTH you set are stored locally on your Mac and are sent only to QRZ.com to perform lookups — never to RF.Guru. Results may be cached locally to reduce repeat queries. Your use of QRZ.com is governed by QRZ.com's own terms and privacy policy.

Children

These apps are tools for licensed amateur radio operators and are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date above. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
